Today at 11am was National simultaneous Storytime (NSS) which is an annual Australian event that is aimed at encouraging young Australians to read and enjoy books. More information can be found at ALIA. This years book is The Cow Tripped Over the Moon by Tony Wilson and Laura Wood. It is such a fun story, and in celebration of NSS I thought I would share my thoughts on this book.

Knock Knock Dinosaur
From that very first KNOCK KNOCK at the door as the book began, if was clear that the book was going to be an adventure. Not only does Caryl Hart bring to us some ACTUAL SIZE dinosaurs who get into all sorts of mischief, she has cleverly included counting from 1-10 seamlessly into the story. It melds together so well that the children won't even realise that they are learning to count while having a story read to them.
Imagination
The joy in his face and words didn't stop. He would get so excited about so many details about the book. Constantly pointing to what delighted him most in the book. He and I had never met before, yet he was not afraid to share his happiness with me.
