When the sadness and anxiety is getting too much, Dad tells Maya how her mum used the garden to shine a little light when her happiness was lost. “…Your mum knew that by the time the seeds had grown, these worries would have faded away. She called them her seeds of hope.”
Ruth Waters book is fun, celebrates difference, and the importance of being true to yourself. This well paced adventure saw me instantly charmed by bear; I love that he wears patterned woolen jumpers and behaves the opposite of what is expected of a bear.
So before I get any older I plan on sharing this book with as many people as I can, which I hope inspires everyone to encourage children to be as free and whimsical in their imagination of what they want to be someday...or even today.

He's imaginative, quirky, and has great intuition - Fabio the Worlds Greatest Flamingo Detective solves crime with his Giraffe friend George. The Case of the Missing Hippo will have you laughing and trying to solve the mysterious crime yourself.
Follow Harvey on his journey with his Oragne 430 and how his experience will inspire children think about what they own, and encourage them to consider needs as opposed to getting every whatsydo or thingamajig for no apparent reason.
I am a big advocate of having Non Fiction books readily available for children to read. They are great learning tools that often don't make the reader feel like they are learning because they are having so much fun, yes learning can be fun.
'Shhh...everyone is fast asleep on the farm.' 'Who can you see cuddled up in the barn?' The language is simple and tells a beautiful story about the hungry caterpillar heading to his bed upon some leaves, while saying goodnight to his friends along the way.
These are animals is one of the most fun books I have read to a group of children in a while. It was great to see the children love the book as much as I did, which is why it is now one of my favourite go to books for Storytime sessions.
He is whimsical, magical, silly, imaginative and a whole lot mysterious, but most of all you know he's got your back. Mr Bambuckle is the teacher everyone wants except for Miss Frost and Principle Sternblast.
