What’s Up Top

So what is up to? That is what we are left wondering when we get to the end of the book, but throughout the story the children's imagination is fed and inspired. From pages with almost nothing on a it to busy pages with baboons and giraffes our goal is to think about what is on top of the cheeky ladder.

The Squirrels who Squabbled

One thing I am learning about Rachel Bright and Jim Field is that they write and illustrate awesome books that are funny, with a captivating message on the side.  The Squirrels Who Squabbled  is a beautiful story of friendship and working together, but to get there laughter is ensured.

Little People Big Dreams

The excitement I felt when opening these three Little People Big Dreams book when they arrived in the mail is indescribable. I was presented with elegant and beautifully presented books, and I was instantly love with the possibilities of them.

The Amazing Book of My Little Pony

As soon as I took this book out of the package it was sent in I was instantly transported back to my childhood. My little Pony was a huge part of my life growing up and I know I collected a few over the years. What is even more exciting now is that I get to share this book with my niece who also loves the ponies and has quite the collection, and I can't wait to share in her pure joy as she looks through this book.

Pea Pod Lullaby

This is a book that had me close to tears at the message that it speaks. It will have your school aged child thinking and talking about its meaning, and for the younger child it is a lullaby that whispers words of comfort and grace. The illustrations will captivate both young and old eyes.

A Sheepdog Called Sky

Some books are little treasures, and this is one of those where I felt transported back to when I was a child. I felt familiar with the story and felt comfortable that the content is safe for an 8 year old to read.  There are a lot of books about magic, goblins and elves for young children, but in my role as a Librarian parents often ask me for books that don't have those components. For those types of requests this book is a perfect fit.

Letterbox Purple Pack

It has taken sometime but I am back to talk about the wonderful BookTrust program Letterbox and the Purple pack they sent me. I loved it when I received it and I love it still now, I think it has a whole heap of items that extend the reading and learning experience, but its best quality is that it is FUN!
