If you are a regular reader of my blog you know how much respect and love I have of Spot books. I wasn’t sure it was possible but I love the lift-the-flap Spot books even more than regular ones, the reason being that children absolutely delight in lifting the flaps and their joy is quite contagious.
Find Spot at the Zoo sees Spot, Mum and Dad go on an adventure at the Zoo, discovering animals along the way. Spot meets a Zebra, Giraffe, a Polar Bear and many other animals whom he is soon calling his friends. Spot loves his visit to the Zoo so much that he wants to come back again soon.
The book can be more than just reading the words but creating possibilities through conversation and discovery. This can be achieved by learning about the animals, identifying them, learning what noises they make and where they might live.
Find Spot at the Zoo is written in a compact, board book format, and is full of colour and simple illustrations that engage the reader. It is certainly one that I would recommend for babies to preschoolers.
Thank you Penguin Books for the opportunity to read and honestly review this book.
