As a not so good cook, I need all the help I can get! I was delighted to be able to recently read The Weeknight Cookbook, which has 100 fantastic recipes that are easy enough for someone who cooks like me. I feel that my husband may be rejoicing once he gets a few of these delicious meals on his plate.
There is nothing fancy about me or my cooking but Justine has managed to create recipes from staples that many of us have in our pantry, and turn them into delicious creations. I feel like this book is perfect for creating some comforting meals during our current isolation period, or would make an ideal gift for someone moving into their own house and want to create tasty food.
There are little nuggets throughout the book, like Justine’s Cheat Sheet. These sections give you ideas for go-to sauces, easy pasta combos and some ‘can’ do meals!
It may seem like a strange thing to say about a cookbook, but I feel like it is a really personal collection of recipes and life. There is a relaxed picture of Justine in the back of the book, and for me, it sums up what every page is about – taking the stress out of everyday meals.
Dinner time is about to get more exciting in my house with this book, and I can’t wait to dive into those recipes that are fast, easy and delicious.
Thank you Pan Macmillan for the opportunity to read and honestly review this book
