I give this:
Dear Lucy Cousins
Yes I can imagine, being a bird, one that cock-a-doodle-doo’s and one that stretches out its wings. I can not only imagine this, I recently got to dip into the magical world you created in ‘Hooray For Birds’ where I read about birds that stand tall on one leg and stretches their neck.
Your signature bright colours and whimsical illustrations wowed me and had me enthralled from beginning to end. Your story engaging, and a great learning experience for children. Lucy, this book is a fantastic for reading to a group of children and I can’t wait to show them at story time the birds that are awake on the inside of the front cover and asleep on the inside of the back cover. First we will make bird noises and guess what each bird is as we read from beginning to end.
Lucy, I know this is my new favourite and will also become much loved to the children of the world. With Tweet, Tweet, Tweets and Cheep, Cheep, Cheeps I will continue getting lost in this wonderland of birds, colour and words that make you want to read this book over and over again.
So thank you Lucy Cousins for continuing to write books that children and adults want to read, for stories that children can relate to and for animals children love.
With much thanks
