These are animals is one of the most fun books I have read to a group of children in a while. It was great to see the children love the book as much as I did, which is why it is now one of my favourite go to books for Storytime sessions.
There was an amazing amount of laughter especially when catfish says "Just look what you've done...I'm meant to have whiskers and now I have none." The group was concerned about the bubbling stew, were fascinated by the pirates and laughed hard when there was a bubble soaked pirate ship.
Here is the final part to the Smarty Arty Aussie Animals theme. I have really enjoyed sharing this theme with you and am going to finish off with a few books that will be a lovely addition to your crafting session.
I love this book, and was very excited to read this to one of my baby storytime groups just recently where it was well received by all. In fact, the babies were so attentive to the book and I had never seen anything like it before for such an age group.
There is a children's picture book author whose books stand out on the book shelves, literally, because they are bright and colourful. Lucy Cousins books are familiar to children, especially the Maisy Books. Personally I have never been the biggest fan of Maisy, however when this book jumped out at me...the bright colours and size largely responsible, I saw Maisy and the story she had to tell from a completely new perspective. So, today's post is me sharing with you why this book has changed my view.
As I have mentioned before I am not normally one to suggest formal learning before school, learning for preschoolers should be done in a way that is and feels like play rather than learning. However, when Hachette Australia sent me this First Phonics book I thought it would be a wonderful resource for the 3 year old and above age group, particularly if they are going to 3 year old Kinder.
It wasn't until I been until I have been going through these books that I truly realised just how much my aunt supported my love of reading and literacy. From such a young age I was blessed by all the adults around me to be gifted so many books.

I find great value in stories like Antoinette because to a child it is simply a story about a dog, her family, her friends, discovering abilities and one missing friend Ooh-La-La!
