Yirruwa Yirrilikenuma-langwa

Yirruwa Yirrilikenuma-langwa (When We Go Walkabout), is a beautiful celebration of indigenous culture, where each picture is a work of art and celebrates the Aboriginal way of passing on knowledge through the traditional stories of their ancestors.

Hug Machine

With a title like Hug Machine there was no way I could go past this book, hugs are one of the most simple acts one can do but is also one of the most caring and kind things that can be done.  It is books like this, spreading love and happiness that I want to share with children.

The Story of Christmas

The Story of Christmas is like a little gift from heaven because it is an accurately portrayed story of the birth of Jesus.  This book is everything that Christmas is to me, so when I received this gem in the mail I was instantly taken in by the beautiful illustrations and the brightness of each page

Hole in the Zoo

Hey guys, want to read something fun? Something that rhymes and where you can also make animal noises? Do you want to read something that uses the word ZOO in a interesting kind of way? Where the illustrations are gorgeous and the animals faces make you laugh (especially the giraffe on the front cover)?

Happy Birthday Mummy Pig!

I am not normally a Peppa Pig reader, but when I saw this absolutely adorable board book I knew I needed to share it with you all.  I didn't realise just how delightful it was until I started the Happy Birthday song from the button on the top right hand corner. This book is a classic example of making literacy and reading fun.

What Makes Me a ME?

Ben Faulks has captured my imagination and got me to run with it to discover who I am, just as the boy in the book does.  The boy goes on a journey of self discovery and awareness that is portrayed in a way to make you laugh and be at ease with differences.

A Bag and a Bird Review

I have been reading Pamela Allen books for as long as I can remember, her picture books are amazing and she is a favourite author of many Australian children and adults.  Her books are engaging and sometimes funny, with familiar titles such as Who Sank the Boat?  The Mr McGee books, and the popular (and very funny) Belinda.  The newest addition to her collection, A Bag and a Bird features familiar places to children who live in Australia or have visited Sydney.
