Oh lila, from the outset my heart felt so sad that you were not accepted because of your dark hair, eyes and skin. Nate reminds me of your typically pre teen and teen (yes I am stereotyping here, and no I probably shouldn't be), looking a little crazy in the school picture (not from lack of trying to look 'normal'), driving teachers a little exasperated and denying he is on a date (it was the only seat left...really it was).
